Color Choices

Eclipse Shutters are offered in three neutral color choices to enhance any décor: Cotton, Pearl, and Vanilla. Cotton is our most popular color, while Pearl and Vanilla offer warmer tones to your interior design. Our hinges are available in Cotton, Pearl, Brass and Stainless Steel to match your preferred shutter color.

Louver Sizes

Eclipse Shutters are offered in three louver sizes: 2 1/2 inch, 3 1/2 inch and 4 1/2 inch. The 2 1/2 inch louver size is the most traditional size. Gaining in popularity are the larger 3 1/2 inch and 4 1/2 inch louvers as their size offers the traditional look but have a grand feel to them. The size of window, size of room, personal preference, and view to the outside are all determining factors in choosing louver size.

New UltraClose™

Our newest option, the UltraClose™ hidden gear tilt system, enhances the look and operation of our shutters. Features include reduced depth requirements, smooth louver operation, one touch control and an improved closure of louvers. The contemporary look offers clean lines that complement both classic and modern interior décor. eclipse plantation shutters

Tilt Rod

The classic Tilt Bar system eliminates unsightly staples or gears which tend to break or rust, and does not have the unsightly mouse holes you tend to see in wooden shutter products. The Tilt Bar provides a tight and uniform closure of all louvers at once and is located on the front center of each panel of Eclipse plantation shutters giving them the classic look that homeowners desire.

Child Safety

Eclipse Shutters

Eclipse Shutters is now Best for Kids™ certified! The Best for Kids certification is a brand new safety program put forth by the WCMA (Window Covering Manufacturers Association). This is the industry’s first third party certification program designed to help consumers and retailers easily identify products that are safe to use in homes with young children. The Best for Kids program requires manufacturers who want to be a part of the program to meet stringent criteria, and to submit those appropriate products to a third party testing facility laboratory recognized by the WCMA. Products certified under this program will be eligible to be listed and labeled, on packaging and merchandising materials, as “certified.” These products are easily identifiable for purchase by consumers, designers, landlords and child care facilities. This program will also allow retailers to easily promote these certified products.  The products that qualify either have no operating cords or have cords that are not accessible, as defined in Appendix C of ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2012.

Additional Information

Child Safety is serious business.

That’s why the window coverings industry uses warning tags, warning labels, and other methods to communicate the potential hazards of corded window coverings. The warning shown here, for example, communicates the important message about cords being a potential strangulation hazard and suggests choosing cordless alternatives or products with inaccessible cords.

Our window covering products are designed for safety and dependability. Preventing household situations from becoming hazardous is the first step to keeping your child safe. Parents should be aware that it is possible for children to become entangled in window covering cords. To reduce the risk of accidents, all cords should be kept out of the reach of children. Each of our product categories offer a variety of motorized, cordless and corded window treatments allowing you to choose the product that best meets your household needs and preferences.

Our Selection of Safety Features:

  • Cordless Lift System - pull lift cords are eliminated for increased safety.
  • Motorization - pull lift cords are eliminated for increased safety.
  • Continuous Loop Lift System - cords are kept at a constant length so they can’t puddle on the floor when window treatment is raised. The cord loop is fastened to a cord tension device that is designed to be permanently anchored to the wall to reduce the possibility of children becoming entangled in the cord.

Important Cord Safety Guidelines:www.windowcoverings.org

The Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) are urging parents and caregivers to check their window coverings for exposed or dangling cords that can pose a strangulation hazard to infants and young children, and to retrofit or replace them with today’s safer products. WCSC and CPSC recommend that only cordless window coverings or those with inaccessible cords be used in homes with young children.

  • Cordless window coverings are recommended in young children’s bedrooms and sleeping areas. Replace window blinds, corded shades and draperies manufactured before 2001 with today’s safer products.
  • Retrofit window blinds, corded shades and draperies manufactured before 2001 with cord retrofit devices* or replace them with products made to the current safety standards.
  • Move all cribs, beds, furniture and toys away from windows and window cords, preferably to another wall.
  • Keep all window pull cords and inner lift cords out of children’s reach. Make sure that tasseled pull cords are short and continuous-loop cords are permanently anchored to the floor or wall. Make sure cord stops are properly installed and adjusted to limit movement of inner lift cords.
  • Lock cords into position whenever horizontal blinds or shades are lowered, including when they come to rest on a window sill.
